Photo Shoot [09/03/16]
In order to take original pictures for my magazine cover, contents page and double page spread, we decided to get into groups and have a photo shoot using a studio with various areas. To take photos, I used a professional camera of a very good quality, various backdrops (green screen, black and white backdrop) alongside very good lighting soft box set to give the photos a professional look and enable me to control the lighting.
I took many close up, long shots and mid shots of my group members to use in my magazine alongside an image that can be placed on my magazine cover which consists of myself and my group members holding guitars, dressed in appropriate 'rock' style clothing and posing in order to elict a very 'rock' mood. I took close ups of guitars, keyboard keys and drum kits in order to use in my final music magazine.
I could have also used this picture for my main cover although, I decided against it in the end due to the fact that I'd rather have a whole band pictured on my main cover instead of just two band members. The target audience would be attracted to this picture due to the dark, rock atmosphere emitted from within the picture.
This is the picture I'll use for my front cover as it gives off a very good metal, rock music genre 'vibe' through the use of the black battered wall and the emotionless expressions of the band, enhanced by the 'rock' style clothing and props. The target audience is of a 'rock' nature therefore, this would meet their expectations. [14/03/16]
This is a behind the scenes picture of our cameraman taking some sweet photos of us during our photo shoot using professional cameras and very good camera angles.[14/03/16]
My plans for this photo include using Photoshop to manipulate it, as I'd like to darken the picture in order to bring in some white balance in order for it to look crisp and professional so I can use it for my magazine exclusive interview/behind the scenes article. [14/03/16]
This is my 3rd option for the magazine cover as it elicts a rock, metal vibe due to the metallic and leathery outfit presented alongside a Jimmy Hendrix shirt. The target audience would be attracted to the clothing in this picture as this is a stereotypical style of clothing a person who really enjoys rock music would wear. [14/03/16]

These are my flat plans for my magazine layout however I might alter it ever so slightly when producing my final design, for now this is just a flat plan. However, the contents page design is going to be similar to my final contents page design. [14/03/16]

This is my mock-up of the magazine cover I'm planning to produce however, I'm going to use a better image manipulation software such as Photoshop, Gimp and Pageplus X7 in order to recolour, resize images etc and add appropriate coverlines. The use of the two software programmes will allow my magazine cover to be of much better quality and have a highly professional finish. The barcode and pricing will be included in the final piece, this is just a template for future use. [10/04/2016]

This is my first attempt at the magazine cover of my music magazine MoshPit. I used GIMP and Photoshop software in order to add the effects seen on the picture and I used Pageplus in order to get the font needed for a professional look. [10/04/2016]
